BIG FOOT HUNT
Last night we took Mike for a drive to the area near our home where it is rumored Big Foot was once sighted (see photo). This was a relaxing drive after a hard days work. Mike started early in the morning shoveling horse manure out of one of the stalls. He progressed to some computer time, then a drive to Wal-Mart with me where we bought a movie. We watched our movie while Grandpa Ron napped. In the evening after our drive Mike helped me load all the old carpet into the trailer to take to the dump. It was sooooo moldy and gucky so Mike didn't even have to be encouraged to jump in the shower. He was there in a flash. It was a busy and rewarding day for all of us.

OH NO OTIS!
Today we took a relaxing vacation from all the moving. We drove to Grove and took the long way there and back, stopping at several yard sales. There are some nice ones around here.
We met a crazy lady. That's about the best way to describe her. She had some great things for sale, but I thought if we had to be around her very long, I would have to hit her. She had a sales pitch about every item touched. We did manage to buy a few things but got out as quickly as we could.
The last stop was only a mile or so from our house. It was kind of hard to find and off the beaten path, but we followed the signs closely and found a great sale. The people had a couple of cute dogs. One was fairly old and part poodle. It was a clean and friendly little thing. A young toddler was at the sale with his mother and I heard him chanting, "Puppy, puppy, puppy."
Suddenly the man having the sale started yelling, "Oh no Otis! Go back Otis! Get away Otis! Bad dog, Otis." I turned expecting the child to be after the fluffy dog. Instead the child was heading toward Otis, a young terrier covered in manure. Otis had been on an adventure and found the perfect cure for annoying bugs. He had rolled over and over in a fresh, wet pile of cow - - - -!
Otis was a friendly dog and wanted to show his good nature by rubbing against everyone. We had to do some fast stepping to stay out of Otis' way. "Let's get out of here!" I told Ron and we left just in time -- before Otis started to shake and spray his muddy brown covering on the sale items and the shoppers.

JASMINE'S CALL
Last night I got a call from Jasmine. She was working on a homework assignment and needed some help. I was honored to be selected to provide assistance. Jasmine and Terri had come up with seventeen titles and Jasmine needed 20. I managed to provide three more. Now we will wait to see what grade we get -- oops, I mean what grade Jasmine gets. LOL

New Chairs
WOW, Another Birthday
Today is the second birthday of Nora Bean. I'm just realizing all the grand gals born in May. Pat, Beth, Nora, Pauline, Elaine and now we've got a special boy Ethan added to the mix who has a birthday this month. All good-hearted people bringing light into our lives.
Here we are back in Kansas to get another load. We have collapsed here. I danced with the chickens yesterday and this morning. And, speaking of the chickens, Boss Hog and the Sex-Links joined us two years ago today.
We slept in our own bed last night and Ron is still sleeping. We watched satellite TV and here I am on the internet. I never dreamed that stepping into this little school house would every be our entry into the 21st Century.
We are tired, we are weary but we are determined and this morning we will head out with another tractor and a load of boxes I packed yesterday. Yes, the delightful new home is definitely worth the "sacrifice for the privilege" as dad would say.

Today is Pat’s 60th birthday. She is on my heart and mind and I celebrate the precious children who are such a wonderful legacy for Pat.
Elenore visited yesterday and my work will not come to an abrupt halt. She brought me Harlan Coben’s new book, PROMISE ME and it is a Myron Bolitar story. She is a generous girl to loan me the book to read first before she sees it.
We’re off to Stark today for another load. We were going to take the pickup truck and trailer backwith us but truck has fuel line problem that will have to be fixed before we can take it again. The van is loaded with old carpet left over from the rennovation.

It is raining. It has been raining everyday since we started moving. I know it is good luck to have rain on your wedding day but don’t know what it means on moving days. I’m going to go with good luck there too.
My Christmas Angel from Chelle is the only knickknack that I have out. It is in my kitchen above the cabinets and encourages me to keep cleaning,
This morning Ron has gone to town to have the van serviced. I am alone to waltz through our huge home and rejoice.
My primary goal was to have a dining room table with six chairs and two bathrooms. We have the two bathrooms and will add a third. We had the table with two insert leaves to expand. We purchased six beautiful chairs that are now placed around my favorite sturdy table.
Carpet has almost all been replaced. The cat odor is practically gone except for the den and master bedroom and it wasn’t as bad there to begin with.
The seller did not return the wagon wheels as promised. It is really okay because after seeing the porch without them I liked it better. However, it is the principal of the thing. Supposedly the daughter will return today for her cats. We’ll see..
Outing to Family Dollar
We have just returned from the new Family Dollar store. This was the Grand Opening and Ron was given a free bag of chips. I received free tampon samples and Pantene samples. I can use the Pantene but haven’t needed tampons for almost eight years. I tried to trade with Ron for the chips, but he wouldn’t go for it.
We ran into J.R. at the store. He was very uncordial. This was our seller’s dad and he is obviously angry with us. Hum??? I think he thinks he’s duplicate of Dallas J.R.
Programming Universal Remote
Our biggest project today was trying to program the new Universal remote. Impossible even with two great minds working on it, cursing it, leaving it in the dust.
I figured it out. Since this TV is a TV/VCR combined, I had to program the remote as a VCR and not as a TV. Duh!
Cherry Tree
There is a cherry tree in our front yard and it is loaded with cherries. What is my favorite fruit of all and far too expensive? Yep, cherries!!!! Hip, hip hooray!
No Internet
I cannot access the internet. I don’t believe it is the fault of my new internet provider. I believe the fault lies in my very, very, very old laptop computer. We’re going to need to wait until we get my Dell here.
Farmall Cub is here
Ron is out mowing with his Cub. He is a happy camper when the Cub runs smoothly and he can mow and mow and mow. That is Ron’s happy place – one of them anyway.
And
We have two, TWO, 2 pecan trees.
Dishes and Deer
I wash the evening dinner dishes and watch deer come to the back edge of our 9 acres. They seem to know they are safe here. The multitude of cats, however, are in grave danger and better figure that out soon

How, How, How?
How am I ever going to have computer time again??? Our new house is wonderful but our move is time consuming. We're having to take more than furniture, furnishings, clothing and food. We have to move tractors and trailers and backhoes, AND CHICKENS, etc. So, if you don't see me for a while, please keep checking back and surely I will appear again. Meanwhile, I'll try to at least read your blogs if I can't write on mine.
Yes, we have the house. This is what I wanted and it's just what I wanted, but somehow I thought I would twitch my nose and everything would pop into place. Nope, no Samantha here.
